Opus 5
Opus 5
"Three woodwinds take a harmonious stroll together through many lively and pleasant melodic lines, blending and contrasting from each other."
After my (former) school’s music teacher, Jennifer Kelly (who is a clarinetist) saw one of my compositions, she asked me to compose a trio for her to perform with me and another student at the end of the year. During my conservatory clarinet lessons, my (former) clarinet teacher wanted me to perform a piece by a Canadian composer for Canada Music Week, so I suggested this trio. I performed with him and her wife (who is a flutist) four times, one at a masterclass, one at a concert, and one for the members of the Greater Victoria Concert Band to hear, and one for at a year-end concert. I also performed it at my middle school with another student and Jennifer Kelly.
